Adam Cogan General, JavaScript Frameworks, SSW Projects 2018 in review, year in review 1 Comment
2018 was a whirlwind year and one that I’m very proud of. It’s fun to look back on and share with you all. This year SSW launched 2 new user groups, hit our highest utilisation rates for client bookings, and ran dozens of sold-out training courses around Australia.
On a more personal level, I was lucky enough to be renewed as a Microsoft MVP for more than the 15th time, presented at a bunch of conferences, both in Australia and abroad, and spent several months living and working in Hangzhou, China with my little one, Ruby. Then, the whole family joined me at the end of the year in December.

It’s amazing because JavaScript frameworks have a reputation for […]
Adam Cogan General, NDC Sydney Conference, NDC Sydney 0 Comments
September has come and gone and NDC Sydney is over. SSW was a large part of this great conference, which is personally my favourite event of the year.
Of course, I love going to NDC Oslo, but there’s nothing like having the Norwegians come to your home town. This was the 3rd annual Sydney event and it was awesome. The conference is a 5-day event (September 18-21), composed of 2 days of workshops and 3 days of presentations.

I’m often asked advice on what makes a good software consultant. Hang on a tick before I get to that. Software exists to solve problems and make our lives easier – but any software consultant can tell you that creating software can come with problems of its own. The 2 big ones are: Software is […]
Adam Cogan skin cancer personal 3 Comments
Australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world – it’s our #1 most common type of cancer. According to the Australian Cancer Council, 2 in 3 Aussies will have been diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they’re 70. As a kid, a lot of my older relatives had skin cancers cut […]
